City walls of the Vila Vella:

Considered to be the only example of a fortified medieval city in existence on the Catalan coast. Built in the 12th century to defend itself from the attacks of pirates, they were renovated in the 14th century. They have four turrets and three cylindrical towers. Inside its walls we find the town and the ruins of a Gothic church. They are classified as a National Historical-Artistic Monument since 1931.

The Can Magí Tower:

Built outside the wall, it was used to watch for the arrival of the pirates. It’s classified as an historical heritage sight.

The Municipal Museum:

We will find this museum in the casa del Batlle de Sac (Gothic palace), in the Vila Vella. It boasts an important art collection of painting, ceramic and glass. It also has an archaeology room with archaeological objects from Tossa de Mar.

La Casa Sans:

Currently converted into a hotel (Diana Hotel), it’s actually a house built at the beginning of the 20th century, in the Indian style. Built by architect Antonio de Falguera.

La Verge dels Socors Chapel:

Building from the 16th century. Chapel built to protect the sailors and tradesmen of Tossa.

Sant Vicenç Church:

Boroque architecture from the middle of the 8th century, it was built to replace the old church of the Vila Vella.

Sant Miquel Hospital:

Named historical-artistic monument in 1977, it was a hospital for people of modest means built in 1773.

Roman Villas:

The dels Ametllers Roman Villa is considered one of the most important villas of the former Roman province of Tarroconensis. Besides this Villa we also have the Ses Alzines Roman Villa (1 km from Tossa), and the Mar Carbotí Roman Villa (5 km away).

Sa Riera Park:

Tossa Lighthouse:

Inaugurated in 1919 to cover the area between Calella and Palamós.

El Massís de Cadiretes:

Protected area located in-between he municipalities of Tossa de Mar, Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Llagostera, Lloret de Mar, Vidreres and Santa Cristina d’Aro. Ideal for trekking or bicycling. The Sant Grau Sanctuary is found here.
